I'm running 10.2 on my eMac g4 1000 but I want to upgrade and I want to know if I'll have to backup my current files. I don't feel like going through all that because I've used about 70 gigs of space so far but then again I don't want to lose my files...

you can install as an upgrade install and itll leave all files and settings alone, though its usually best just to do an erase and install if possible to avoid future problems.
