help with istat

when i download istat pro and try to install it after its finished downloading, it won't install. i searched for it in the finder window, and its there. but when i try to open the file it won't open. the dock at the bottom of the screen disappears for a few seconds, then a message box pops up in the middle of the screen for a split second (not long enough to read what it ways), and then nothing happens. why can't i install this application?

nevermind. i just realized that i disabled the dashboard and thats why it wouldn't open.
