Ok so after browseing ebay for what seems like forever and raising the money by selling the last 4 years of chirstmas presents, i finally have enough money for a mac.
So is this a good buy? A used macbook with the following spec for £490

Core 2 Duo 2.16 Ghz
1GB ram
120GB HD
Superdrive
Leopard

Original box etc with iLife etc.

Yay or nay??

Thanks,
Hannah.

I would take a look at this one, much faster processor for the same price.

1Gb of RAM isn't great, however you can add additional sticks for very little. CPU isn't a consumer upgrade on a laptop.

EDIT: Just re-read the description and it does state 'minor scratches on case' so I'd message him asking for pictures if your worried. Still I'd believe most laptops will have scratches since they are portables.

Hey thanks for that, but that one is Core Duo, what is the actual difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo??

Edit: Just re-read it is Core 2 Duo, but i'd still like to know the difference. Also, the seller only had little feedback, safety first =].

Core 2 Duo machines can address more memory and are 64-bit capable.

He has made a mistake on the Specs at the top. Description states:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz Processor, 1024 MB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, Intel GMA 945 Graphics, Superdrive, Built-in iSight, Bluetooth, Airport Extreme 802.11n.

Worth double checking none-the-less as the Core Duo is a slower chip.
