I've just received an email from one of the colleges I applied to, containing an .ASP document with my acceptance or rejection inside. I can't seem to open this document— I've tried renaming it as a .PDF to open with Acrobat or Preview, opening it with a web browser, opening it in Photoshop, even emailing it to myself and trying to view it as a Google document. Any more suggestions?

ASP is MS's Active Server Pages. It is a server-side web language for displaying dynamic web content. It has to be hosted on a server for it to be viewable (aside from seeing the code).

They should not have sent this to you. That said, try opening it in TextEdit and you should be able to decipher what the content of the email was.
