I'm getting ready to sell my MacBook Pro 15". It has an OSX operating system. What do I need to do to make sure all my personal info and data is completely erased on it before it sells?

Boot the machine with your original install DVD, run Utilities, Disk Utilities from the top menu. Highlight the hard drive and select erase (or, secure erase to make sure). Format the drive as HFS+. After that, re-install OS X from the DVD and continue to the next DVD to install applications. Your machine should be clean and ready to sell.

Make sure you have a backup of all your personal data and documents copied to an external drive or burned to media before erasing the hard drive.

Regards.
