Macintosh HD Info

Your Mac's Specs
13.3" Aluminium Macbook 2.4GHz, 2GB DDR3 1066, Nvidia Geforce 9400M
One quick question, when one gets the info for the Macintosh HD there will be a created info, What does the created mean? I assume it means the date the operating system was installed on the hard drive?

Looking at the date on the HDD on my iMac G5 I would say the day the Hard Drive was first Formatted with OSX. Mine shows that date.
