So I recently upgraded to Leapord, I noticed whenever I plug in my external HD, My trash bin is no longer empty and when I open it its a bunch of random files from my external HD, then obviously when I unplug the drive my trash bin is empty again. Any ideas on this?

You must empty the trash bin with your external drive connected to actually delete the files.

When you just drag the files to trash and not empty it you are not actually deleting the files.

I never dragged the files there in the first place...perhaps I didn't explain what's happening clearly...

When I plug my external drive into my MBP, it automatically moves some files from my external drive into the trash bin ON IT'S OWN, I AM NOT THE ONE MOVING THE FILES TO MY TRASH BIN.

Then drag them out and see if they stay. :)

What kind of files are they? Are they of the "Recovered Files" (or whatever they're called) type?

So, what you are telling us, is that you have never deleted anything from this external drive? Is this correct?
