erratic mouse pointer

Hello,

I have a new imac and the mouse sometimes goes crazy on the screen. It jumps and moves when I am trying to click on an item.What is wrong??

The mouse tracking can be very sensitive.
You can set the tracking speed a little slower in your System Preferences if you need to.
