i dont have no mac's
i couldnt sleep last night so at 3 oclock i started investigating new (well....used) macs

it appears that i can pick up a used 350mhz b&w on ebay for like 200 bucks.
i can then upgrade the processor to an 800mhz for like 300 it appears
then upgrade ram
and probably video card

would all of this be worth it for something that would be more or less a spare computer?

Would i find it significantly slower than my 1ghz powerbook?

it appears that i can easily get into the 8-900 dollar range which at that point i might as well just get a low end ibook with a student discount(while im still a student)

$200 + $300 = Mac mini.
The mini makes used desktop Macs tough to justify.

oh jeez...completely forgot about that aspect...

i think i just want a big box with a big apple on it sitting on or next to my desk.

also, im thinking about using my powerbook for general purposes and something else for A/V stuff....maybe pick up a copy of cubase or reason or logic and motion or some other video editing program
