I've had my G4 for almost 4 years now and have had no problem until today. My computer decides to freeze at the grey start menu with the Apple icon. The loading symbol does not appear anymore either. The screen will stay there as long as the computer is on, and it will go no further into the startup. I have been told that it may be that the RAM is not seated correctly. It may also be the Logic Board. What, if anything, can I do or have done to my computer to bring it back to normal? Will buying a larger size RAM or Logic Board fix it?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

First off try zapping the PRAM by holding down Command (one with the apple icon), Option, P and R buttons at the same time immediately after the chime and keep all held down until after the third chime and see if there is any joy.

If not can you boot from the install DVD and run Repair Disk from there?
