I just bought a SSD for my new macbook pro. Does my macbook pro need any firmware update or something like that to make the ssd run well? Or I don't need anything just simply put in the new drive and it will work? Thank you.

Cheers
Carl
Is that drive SLC or MLC?
MLC. Price isn't too bad either. $489.00
Regards.
They are indeed slower, and less reliable than SLC.I thought the MLC drives were painfully slow in write performance.
SLC versus MLC
Lower priced drives usually use multi-level cell (MLC) flash memory, which is slower and less reliable than single-level cell (SLC) flash memory.[11][12] Still, MLC chips continue to be used in many commercially available SSDs
