G5 coming out of sleep

Whenever my G5 1.6 comes out of sleep the mouse and keyboard do not work properly. The mouse moves around the screen but is unable to open any menus, folders etc. I have to then do a hard reset. It has a new install of leopard installed. Any ideas? The G5 is a 1.6, 2gb ram, 320 hard drive.

Well I'm running the new 24" iMac, but I've never experienced that problem. Are you using the Apple keyboard and Mouse, or a Windows version?
Are your keyboard and mouse wireless?

No just the standard wired k/b and mouse. I have checked the disc and permissions...at a bit of a loss....
