Did you know that OS X 10.5 will run, although much slower, on a Power Mac G4 500Mhz with 128MB Ram, using a 140GB Firewire hard drive to boot from?

I tested it and it does in fact work. As I said, it is comparably slower than working on an eMac 1Ghz with 1GB Ram, using a 140GB Firewire hard drive to boot from.

Yes, the limitations are set in the installation media to prevent Leopard from installing on anything less than an 867 MHz G4. However it will run on any G4 using the method you described, or by transferring the HDD into the older Mac. However Leopard will NOT run on a G3.

Probably true to say James it installs. The low end G4's I have seen with leopard don't 'run'.
