hello everyone,

new to the world of macs, HAVE TO DECIDE WHICH IS GOING TO BE MY FIRST MAC PURCHASE ,I HAVE TWO CHOICES BUT I HAVE TO GET SOME SOLID SUPPORT

the imac 20",2,66GHz with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M ,256MB of SDRAM DDR3 from the apple site in italy, (am living in italy by the way),

OR THE the apple store here have the imac 20" 2,66GHz with ati radeon 2600 hd pro, graphic card.

wil be using the mac for editing photos 99 % RAW formats, and some videos amateur with the handy cam.will be using adobe lightroom and capture nx software, and some gaming .

my question is ...
1) which one should i go for the card with nvidia 9400 M or the ati radeon 2600 HD PRO.

2) or should i wait for some more time to see weather the intel i7 comes out with the mac.

thanks for the advice ,

9400 is an onboard GPU, the 2600 is a discrete card.

The 9400 shares RAM memory, therefore you will have 256mb less RAM. The 2600 has its own memory.

Basically the 2600 will perform better than the 9400 in any test.

Your Mac's Specs
20" iMac 2.4GHz w/ WD My Book 500GB HDD. MacBook Pro 2.4GHz. iPhone 5, white, 16 Gigs.
The 9400M is an integrated chip. A fairly recent chip that attempts to make some performance gains over other previous integrated GPUs, and in that sense it is successful. However, it will not come close in performance, and it will certainly never replace the performance of a discrete GPU card with it's own dedicated resources.
