Is he Chewy? lol.
Congrats. For the short time I have been here, it is evident that you are an asset to this community.

I can safely say though that I didn't vote for the winner. To be fair though, all of the candidates were good contributors (jeez, I would be a good politician).

I had such high hopes you were gonna get it this month, but the competition was fierce, more so than it has been in a while. Better luck next time, you know I'll nominate you again ;P

Thanks folks. A great list up there.

Now if we could just figure out how to get the 200-400 people that take a look at the thread every month to actually vote while they're here. 19 votes, that's pretty pathetic.

Well done bobtomay but what a disappointment nineteen members ONLY voted. Let's do away with MOTM as it is so poorly supported.

Perhaps some more "advertising" of the MOTM process would help. I would gladly put a link in my signature if it was deemed helpful.

I would like to suggest that perhaps a thread in Anything Goes along with links would be a good start at increasing awareness of the process. I think that this will help draw awareness to it.

While I can understand your frustration harryb2448, I have to respectfully disagree. While I acknowledge that I have only really been an active member for the last month and a half or so (contrary to what my date joined might say), I have to say that I think it's a great feature of the forums. I think it's right that those who have made worthy and frequent contributions to the community be recognized for their effort to help others. I think that instead of scrapping the MOTM process, alternatives should be explored that will help increase participation.

Sorry if this is a hijack of the thread. That said, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I agree, vansmith. We have plenty of members here, so we must not be promoting it right.

Periodically, Motm struggles to get the amount of activity that we'd like to see. Our regulars do a good job to promote it with linking in signatures, etc. Currently, there is not a lot of involvement from people outside our regulars. There are always going to be some members who are not going to be concerned with the Motm program enough to vote, that's fine.

Placing of the Motm nominations and polls in "Anything Goes" has come up, but we are trying to avoid placing any community related announced topics in that forum. Sometimes, "Not just anything goes in Anything Goes". :)

At this point, we don't see any reason to discontinue due to the lack of participation from the community. If Motm is due for a revamped version, we'll look into that too. However, we do like to recognize our members who go out of there way to help others in the community and who make community also. This is our way of recognizing those members.

If there are any ideas to help Motm, we are open to any productive advice from you guys.
