Safari has been letting ads through today for me... not all of them I went a site I remember from Windows days had about 4 Ads per click and Safari let 1 in today... :closed:

Then @ http://interfacelift.com/icons-mac/ they let an ad in....

This is odd, and yes Block Pop Ups is checked. :bone:

Yeah this is reported on Apple's forums.. it looks like Apple broke the popup blocker in a recent update.

If it's any consolation, Shiira is doing the same thing to me, just not as badly. It's also a Webkit browser. It doesn't let very many through, but I've seen three in the past couple days. The only way I've ever been able to totally avoid unwanted popups is with a Gecko-based browser.

FireFox let in an ad on the link you left there as well. I didn't notice it until I closed my browser because it was at the back of the screen

Just so you know, I just tried it on Firefox on Windows XP with SP2. Latest Firefox and it let one popup in also. So it's not just Safari or OSX Browsers.

Glad I kept my one PC just to check things out from time to time.

It's not the same as an old school pop up ad. But it is a work around, and yes, I cussed them out for trying to exploit it :alien:

Also macfixit has an article on pop uder ads, which appears that all browsers are having problems with.

The update totally solved the new Backwards popup problem in Safari for me. If I use firefox or most other browsers, they don't block the new Back popups, but now with the update Safari does.

Make sure you have "Block pop-up windows" enabled. Preferences, then Security.

Interesting. All the ones that showed up after that new form of Popup came out are blocked for me.

Please post the URL's of the sites you are having the Popup issues with. I will try them on my Macs and Pc's and see what happens.
