I'm 14 years old so I'm sorry if this mayall sound a little stupid to you experts ;)

When running some programmes and games my computer is really slow so I've been told the best thing to do is upgrade my basic 256 MB of RAM to 512 or 768 MB. I've been given a good site to buy it ( http://www.crucial.com/uk/mac/index.asp ) but have a few questions of what to do next. I have an:

iMac
PowerPC G4
1 GHz
256 MB

1) How hard is it to do as I'm no expert on computers, is a RAM upgrade an easy process?
2) How do I actually open up the computer and where do I put the block of RAM?
3) Before inserting the RAM into the computer is their anything I need to do?
4) After I put the RAM in what do I do?

Can you please try and refrain from to much tech speak ;)

Many thanks

David

Thanks for that. But does anyone know how they got from figure 5 to figure 6?

Step 5: there is no memory in the machine.
Step 6: insert at an angle
Step 7: step 7, push the memory down and the tabs lock it in place.

Do you have a memory stick that you need to remove? If so, you'd need to remove it before step 5.

A. Push two buttons on sides of memory, and raise memory stick to angle (about 45 degrees).
B. Gently slide memory out of slot.
C. Continue with step 5.

nice! when explanation doesn't work, use pictures. If pictures fail, use video (well, slideshow anyway).
