For all you e-book readers out there ... Amazon has released an app available thru the iTunes app store that will allow you to download and read all your Kindle books on your iPhone or iPod touch. More here...

Works with all the Kindle books - no magazine or newspaper subscriptions.

It will sync between your phone and your Kindle, so no matter which device you've been reading, the other device knows what page you're on.

The app is free, the books are priced right and your copy of it can be had in the iTunes store.

They should have looked at Stanza. This the only negative I have right now, is that you have to scroll to change the page instead of just touching one side of the screen.

But, I've already managed to go download the current book I've been reading. That's pretty cool and no more negotiating with the wife over who gets the kindle.

I think it's kinda cool that you swipe side to side to change pages.

I downloaded a free book and it looks interesting so far, I'll have to use it a bit more before I decide to purchase anything.

I checked it out. Its kinda cool, but I am not sure if I could read a whole book on it. I downloaded a few chapters of some books (sample feature is great) so far so good. I have the iphone missing manual that reads well in the formula that is in (I like that better)? We shall see what new feature they add over time to the Kindle app.

Any Kindle owners? They look cool but I think its kind of pricey.

The Kindle, agreed, it's kind of pricey. While we do have one in the house, this is more about Amazon making the Kindle app for the iPhone. This means the entire Kindle library is now available on the iPhone also. Now, without a Kindle, hardback bestsellers are available to a lot more people at a 9.99 price. Books out in paper back are typically $.50 to several dollars cheaper.

The Kindle is a nice tool. And when there's two of ya in a house that's been buying books for almost 60 years, there's no place left to put any more of them. As much as we read it was a no brainer. Got the wife one, and my guess would be I'll get one for myself before this year is out. In the meantime, it's nice doing a little reading when I go to bed on the iphone and it's light doesn't bother the wife.

Roger, you should be able to get the e-book app Stanza. The app itself is far superior to the first incarnation of the Kindle iPhone app. You'll find mostly only the classics available for it. There are thousands of e-books out there and I have found some more current titles that were not available from any of the pay sites.

Right. Thanks for that, I will check that out.Can not really see why Amazon would not make Kindle for iPhone available everywhere though since there is no hardware issues such as network access etc.
