hi,
my itunes refuses to open and i keep getting the same error message saying that itunes has quit unexpectedly. i'v tried reinstalling it to no avail. i looked around the web and some people suggested that it may be plugins from other appplications that are effecting it. but i have still not managed to rectify it. can anyone help? this is the report i am getting. dunno if it is any use:

I have the same problem - running (or trying to run) iTunes 8 on OSX 10.4 on a MacBook Pro. It doesn't open and the same 'quit unexpectedly' box keeps popping up. Reinstalling it doesn't change anything.

I called the Apple Support people and they had no solution -

A question for you loughfad78:
If you're using a mac, did you recently (within last 2 days or so) install the updates from the Software Updates thing - say a Quicktime update, Security update, and/or Java update? iTunes was working fine for me earlier this morning, and when I installed these three things a little while ago, iTunes ceased to work. Perhaps it is one of these updates messing things up?
Hmm. . . .

I have this problem but only when I try to open a internet radio station but if i try more than 4 times it works, seems apple might have a bug

Something I've heard that might work, is doing an 'Archive and Install' of OS X - Mac OS X: About the Archive and Install feature
This reinstalls the OS (and Apple apps) while not deleting any files. . . You just need the install disks that came with your computer. I don't have mine with me, so I can't try it out, but I want to see if i can rustle some copies up with my mac-using friends. Apparently this is what the Apple support people reccommend when nothing else works
