My MacBook (which I got 1.5 years ago.. I don't think its the Dual-core gen) had a harddrive failure, and I am thinking of buying a new internal harddrive to install. I have the following questions:

1. What is the brand of harddrive, plus the specifications (RPM, SATA vs ATA, etc) that came with thecomputer?

2. What is the recommended harddrive that I should buy?

Thanks!

Your Mac's Specs
MacBook(3,1): C2D 2.2ghz, 4g RAM, 10.7.5; iMac(12,1): 2.5ghz i5, 16gb RAM, 10.9.1; iPhone5S iOS7.04
Don't know about the brand, but it's a 2.5" SATA.

Recommended hard drive is a compatible one. :) In all my years of computer using, I've personally found no difference among Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba, etc., but the people who have had problems seem to have more problems with WD than with any other....
