Poswer book. Mac OS X tiger
Recently I added another user to my powerbook. This morning I tried to change the permission on the hardrive so only the main user can access it. (I know stupid right)

Now the computer turns on but won't start up. It stays at the blank blue screne, it acts like it's going to log in but it don't. The mouse works but thats all.

I tried all methods on the mac help site, but no luck.

I noticed when I tried to restore my comp that I can browse the destination and source which I see all my files still on it.

Is there a way I can copy all my files on to a CD or external hard drive?

also, how exactly do I erase and restore my system to it's factory settings?
I know how to get the disc utilties but as to when I click on the erase or restore tab I don't know what to do. and I don't want to mess up anything.

Plz help, I need this done asap as I rely on my comp for work.
