Why is my Mac slow in video and audio streaming?

I've got a fairly good g4 power mac. The internet is now wireless, but that doesn't seem to be a problem - it had this problem when it was ethernet. I can download music p2p with no hassle - I don't ever lose any connection. However, when I go on youtube or even last fm and select the radio option for audio streaming it stops now and again.
Can anyone tell me why this might be the case?

What are the specs on your PowerMac G4? CPU Speed? RAM?
