Can I disable a computer via the internet

My 20 year old son made off with a new 17 inch MBP without paying for it. Is it possible to disable this computer so he cannot use it until he either returns it or pays for it. Already did some research and I don't think I can repossess it. Any help is appreciated, mom spent over $3000.00 with accessories.
