Arrange setting retention

Hey gang,

I am a recent switcher, and have a question regarding some folder settings. When I open finder for example, and browse to my home directory. I click View>Arrange>By Name it never seems to retain those settings. Is there a way to save it so when I reopen the folder or specifically add something new to it, it will automatically arrange icons by name? Better yet, is there a way to set that system wide?

While in a folder go to View -> Show View Options

Click for all windows and check the box that says arranged yada yada
