search on mail now working

I have for some time had a problem with my mail program in that suddenly mail search stopped working e.g. i know i have had an email from say "Joe bloggs" but when i type this in the search i get nothing even if i search entire message. has anyone got any ideas?

I think this title should read, "Search on mail NOT working". Just to get us some more visibility on Google, etc.

I have exactly the same problem. No idea when it started, but I think it started when I did one of the 10.5.x upgrades? Also, I did have a low disk space condition recently, but I'm not sure that something like this gets shut off when that happens. This is the only other mention of this problem I've seen.

Just to follow up on this. I got it to work. It's tied to Spotlight. This article got it working again for me.
