Abbreviating dates with CSS

Is there a way to abbreviate any of these tags with CSS or even HTML?

{DayOfWeek} {Month} {DayOfMonth}

I wish, but I don't have control over the date. It's embedded in the code and just appears whenever I post something.

Also, what's a good way to test a design across different platforms/browsers?

I imagine you'll need to dive into the PHP in the template document and change the code. Dont recommend it if you dont know what your doing.. Could break the whole thing just by removing a semicolon

Don't worry about different platforms, only browsers matter for the Internet.

Download and test your website on the following browsers:

Mozilla Firefox 3
Safari Web Browser 3.1
Internet Explorer 7
Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2
Opera 9.5
Google Chrome

Between them, you'll cover every standard web browser family there is, leaving less than one tenth of a percent blind in the water.

First CSS problem: OK in IE, messed up in Firefox...

Internet Explorer and firefox use slightly different syntaxes for HTML and CSS.

Check the W3Schools CSS reference to see what needs to be chnaged for Firefox.
It may still work in Internet Explorer, but if it doesn't, you'll need to make two separate style sheets and use JavaScript to load them respectively.

Again, it's the difference between the builds of the browsers

If it's that important to you, you could simply rebuild the page for Firefox

That was actually a screen shot in Safari.
