Hello:
First post - important (to me) question:
I currently have a DSL connection. I am using a modem supplied by AT&T. It is a "Speadstream Model 5100". The "host machine" is a Sony Vaio (i know, it's a PC :-( . That modem is connected to a LINKSYS SRX 400 Wireless G Broadband Router (model No WRT54GX4). My 20" (about 2 year old) iMac (4,1) core duo 2Ghz processor sits in the room right next to the modem and router. The mac has been upgraded to a full 2 meg of ram. The other equipment occasionally used in the house is my daughters new MacBookPro.
Here's my question: is there a better setup for me to use to obtain faster / stronger wireless service? I like to watch TV series on "HULU" (like 24) and my Mac will slow down and freeze occasionlly. Would an Apple "Airport" work better. Or, a new router itself?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am obviously not very tech wireless savy.... so, please explain in "simple terms" (if at all possible)!
Thank you in advance!
