mac doesnt detect hp printer

iMac 21.5" 2.5Ghz Quad Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD
i have a hp photosmart c4180 all in one printer and i guess my mac doesnt have a driver pre-installed for it, all it detects is the multi-card reader but not the printer so i can print stuff.
does anyone else have this problem? or can someone help me with it?
