idisk uploading

Hi all,

I've only just bought an iMac and am just getting my head round it. I've just set a amy own website up using the mobileme and iweb packages. I wanted to share a MP4 file with a friend of mine and have started to upload the file to my public folder on my idisk. It's not a large file but when I try uploading it it says it's going to take 7 hours and my internet connection slows down. Is this normal? Is there any quicker way of doing this?

How big is the file?

I just uploaded an MP'3' file (5 minute song) and it took 4-5 seconds.

the file is 699mb. i have tried to compress it but it only shrinks to 695mb.
