Recently the USB ports on the back of my iMac have not be responding when i attach an MP3 player or USB stick. Is there any program on my Mac that can sort or 'clean' them, or any ideas on ways of fixing this.

Cheers.

Try powering down your iMac. (completely turn it off) Let it sit for around 30 minutes or so and then power up again. Attach a USB device to the ports one at a time and see if they come to life.

The above procedure has been used successfully by some folks who experienced the same problem with USB ports on their Mac. Let us know if it helps. It it doesn't work, post back and we can try something else.

Regards.

Another trick is to enable another account and then log in using the new account to see if it works on another user.
