keyboard input stuck in Spanish

I changed my keyboard input using International (System Preferences) and now, even though I have changed back to US, the keyboard input is Spanish, although US extended (unicode) works fine. How do I get back to the good old US?

I have tried logging out and logging in as root and changing, then logging back in...did not work.

I have repaired permissions...did not work.

You have to toggle another ROMAN language in International-Input Menu, and then click FORMATS (which resets the list) and then you should be fine.
