Organization question

Hey Folks,

Sometimes when I import/download a complete album iTunes or iPod (I'm not sure which one) will split the album up on my iPod. So an otherwise complete album looks something like:

All
Album 1 (with say 6 songs)
Album 1 (and only two or three)

When it should be:

All
Album 1 (with all the songs in it)

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've noticed that happening if the album is a compilation of previously released songs. Only thing I know to do is to manually edit the tags so that they all match.

Check to make sure the album name and artist name is EXACTLY the same, that includes uppercase and lowercase.. if they are not, then it will split them up.

No extra spaces in name, I suggest copy and paste the name, even if its right, itunes may not think so, but a c&p should do the trick.

The best thing to do is to highlight the tracks that you think have the same Album (or Artist) name, then choose "Get Info." If they are identical, the name will appear in the Album (or Artist) field on the Info screen. If they're not identical, that field will be blank.

Enter the correct name in the field and you're all set.

Other than that, I can't imagine why iTunes is messing up like that.
