HELP!

I try to run the Install Disc 1 on the iMac G4 after wiping the drive through firewire and my MacBook Pro and then this happens:

This is what you call a kernel panic, which is usually caused by faulty hardware, but you could also have a bad/wrong install disc.

If the install disc is from your MBP, or is a grey coloured system restore disc, it will only install on the model machine it was released with.

I was dreading faulty hardware. The thing is, it worked perfectly fine before I wipe it. Now it's crap. I know it's the right install disc, it might just be bad like you said. Thank you!

What color is the Install CD/DVD? What does it say on it?

I once had a PowerMac G4 that would always kernel panic after a few minutes. My friend inspected it and noticed a bulgy capacitor - soldered a new one on top, now it works great. Unfortunately, the iMac G4 is a bit harder to open up...
