problem with cd/dvd on macbook pro

Hi,
I have a trouble with my dvd reader. It stopped to read some of the dvds it did before. And some are still ok.
Any ideas what to do?
Is there any diagnostic tool?

are the dvds old/scratched? or just dirty? you could try cleaning it with a smooth cloth ...

I don't think it is the reason. I tried different dvds, some are ok other are not (and those are ok on different computer).
