Ok, I actually have 2 questions that kind of deal w/same thing:

I'm buying a Macbook Pro Unibody off of Macmall and currently I have a PC desktop that is 5yrs old.

1: How do I convert all of my iTunes songs from my pc to my mbp?

2: Same w/all of my pictures/photos.

Looking for alternatives, cheapest ways, best ways, different ways, etc.

Thanks!

you can just put all the data on an external drive and copy it
or you can copy over the network

if you're worried about the file formats not being compatible, they are, the Mac can show .jpgs and play .mp3s :) and pretty much anything you throw it's way, switching to a Mac isn't time traveling :)

If you are near an Apple store, they will do it all for you

There is also this page on the apple site
How to transfer data from a PC to a Macintosh

As for photos, you can import and manage them in iPhoto - personally I have never really taken to the program, so you might want to look at Google's Picasa as an alternative
