So, I want to install Vista Home Basic using Boot Camp.

After the installer reached the stage where it said it was "Completing Installation..." I received an "unexpected error" during installation. The installer needed to restart.

The computer restarts, and the same error comes up, saying that the computer needs to be restarted. Then, the computer restarts, and the same error comes up, saying that the computer needs to be restarted. Then, the computer restarts, and the same error comes up, saying that the computer needs to be restarted.

You get the picture.

What the heck is going on?

Boot the machine back to OS X (hold down Option key during reboot, select OS X) and remove the Boot Camp partition. Start over. Be sure to follow instructions on how to remove the BC partition and restore your hard drive back to OS X. Make sure the copy of Vista you're trying to install is an eligible copy.

Regards.
