OK so I have this brand new mac book pro 15inch. Everything is pretty sweet and new and exciting. I can connect to the internet at three different places without a bother (one is a campus wlan, other secure home network and third open home network).
I go to run software updates and there is a time out error. I start to dig and realise that the only program able to connect (out of itunes, iphoto etc...) is safari.
What could be the problem? I have 10.5.5 running and am using airport to connect. I suspect it could be a proxy issue because there is a proxy on campus (the IT) guys configured my connection there, and no proxy here or at other home network.
