On starting up my Macbook, First I get the blue/grey/metallic screen [boot screen] with apple logo & the revolving thingie. after that, the screen changes to deep blue, then to light blue & it is then that the login screen appears, with my custom image in the background.

In 10.5.5, I used to go from the boot screen to the login screen without the shades of blue in between. Any idea how I can be able to do that again? Right now the booting process is exceptionally ugly.:(

Normal slow boot while your Mac is tiding up the system.
Try running YASU (Yet another system utility) freeware.
