Hello fellow Mac users!
I am using an intel macbook circa 2006/2007 running 10.4.11. about a month ago the icon that denotes the mouse pointer's location on screen (the black arrow) appeared with vertical white lines interrupting the image. it doesn't matter what icon is on screen, the spinning wheel and the text field icons both have the same lines. on a few occasions the pointer has disappeared altogether and i had to reboot to see it again.
i have tried changing the mouse settings in system preferences, creating a new user to see if the same problem occured in a different account, and i have searched apple support and google for other instances of this problem. All to no avail. i appreciate any insight you can provide.
