- MacBook 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
I have seem similar problems to mine, but never my particular situation on my MacBook 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Sound from internal speakers is weak (sounds like hearing headphones at high volume at a distance),
and
intermittent static coming from the speakers. This static is also present when no music or sound is being generated. It also occurs with certain sound effects, like "Funk."
Sound is fine through the headphones.
The red light in the headphone jack is not on.
Switching between headphones and speakers doesn't improve situation, nor does the toothpick in the jack trick.
Running most recent 10.5.6, all software is up to date.
System sound preferences are ok.
Can you enlighten me? Unfortunately, it's past warranty, no AppleCare.
Many thanks!
