Well, my mac was acting up so I put in the Mac Disk 1 install cd to try and repair or see what was the problem because my Disk Utility wasn't working on my other user account on this mac. I had a white screen for about ever did the alt-cmd-p-r and still a white screen, so I held option and nothing worked same with holding c while the disk was in. left it unplugged for about 30 mins and it decided to work(boot up past white screen) Well now Im trying to get my Mac Disk out of the cd thing on the side and nothing works.

These are the things I've tried.

Eject on keyboard
alt+eject
iTunes eject
Disk Utility to eject but it was telling me there was no cd in to eject.

So Im stuck what to do fairly new to Mac but I have an Intel Mac 2.8Ghz if that's any help.

Thanks,
John

Just to confirm...Are you using the disks that came with the computer? If they are for a different model Mac...they may not work in yours.

When you say that your Mac was "acting up"...what was it doing, or not doing?

Yes using everything that came with my inside the box my iMAC did.

This is the low down on what happened.

I ran DiskUtility, or tried to at least. It froze on Gathering Disk Info so I force quit the program and I then continued to submit problem to Apple. Well that froze also so I went to restart the imac, well it froze while restarting process so I unplugged the cord. PLugged it back in and I got the white screen. Tried all the option-cmd-p-r/option while start up/ and then i thru the disk in while it was still on white screen and unplugged it again and held c. Nothing happened. So then I proceeded to unplug the mac left it unplugged for about 30 minutes and it decided to start up, slowly, but it did start up.

Now I just want my disk out. Everything I tired didn't work which includes.

Left mouse clicking during reboot
option during reboot then holding eject button
itunes eject

I may add that DiskUtility works fine on my Dad's username, but not mine. Then me and my dad went under diskutility and to see if the disk was in that option and maybe I could eject it from there. Well it wasn't so now I am here. :)

Maybe you guys got some tricks I haven't done yet.?

Sounds like you did a number of logical things...such as unplugged it, waited 30 minutes...etc., etc.

Did you hit the "F12" key to try to eject the disk? Or did you try "command + E"?

Here's an Apple "doc" on how to eject a cd/dvd if all else fails:

Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Ejecting a CD or DVD when all else fails

I would write out the details...but reading it is easier.

Hope this helps,

- Nick

Appreciate the help Nick, but reading is easier...

This may not work on all computers. For example, it does not work on Intel-based computers.)
