i know that in msie you can type on the main part of the website name, i.e msn, and then hit ctrl+enter and msie will add the http://www. and the .com. Is there anything like that on safari? if you know any other cool safari shortcuts, please post.

If you use Firefox and type in a word/phrase it will actually automatically search google for you and put the first link into your browser and just load that without loading any other webpages directly on your screen.
