I have Stuffit Deluxe and I'm trying to find a way how to have it so I can split files like some do in .zip or .rar. Since I'm sending this to a friend who doesn't have Stuffit, I don't want to use their archive type.

Compressing a bunch of files

You can do a right-click, or ctrl-click, on the items, and choose "Compress" from the menu that pops up. I've done it once with mp3 files and it worked pretty well.

It sounds like the OP is asking how to create multi-part archives. You can probably do this from the command line without any extra software, but I'm not really sure how.
