Mini Displayport question

Macbook Pro Aluminum body 15 inch 2.4 ghz 2 GB ram 250 HD
I just bought an MBP and want to hook it to my samsung plasma tv. I think I should buy the mini displayport to dvi, then a dvi male to hdmi male cable. The question I have is...what type of dvi should I buy? DVI-D? Confused about this proprietary mini displayport thing. Help?

First check to see if your TV has a DVI or VGA port. If so, it'll be better to use one of those than two types of cables.
