i have last years model macbook (black), 2 gig ram, latest os x updates. i was wondering, if i ran win xp or vista with parallels, could i use an external blu-ray drive to watch movies on my hdtv. will the video output of the macbook give me the full "blu-ray" experience or not?

has anyone tried this?

As far as XP or Vista supporting blu-ray playback, That is a windows question that I can't answer...But as for the macbook's video output, you have the black macbook, so I believe that is the 13"? and the 13" macbooks resolution output is 1280x800 meaning that it would be able to display 720p definition just fine but would not support 1080p...So it really depends on your definition of "full blu-ray experience"
