New Trackpad

I have a question/concern about the new buttonless trackpad.

I just got mine last night, and when I press it to click, it makes a very loud click noise. Is this normal? I read somewhere that it is spring loaded and is harder to click than the old ones, but are they supposed to make a loud click?

well I guess mine does, although i don't think it's all that loud .. but i usually tap to click anyways

It is louder than the old trackpads on MacBooks and MacBook Pros, yes.

That's normal though, but if it bothers you, you can always enable tap to click.

Thanks for the info. I do have tap to click enabled, but somtimes it clicks when I was just trying to move the cursor some more. Gunna take a little getting used to I guess.

it's actually very smooth, you don't need to apply any force at all to move the cursor
