Can i use any Ex- CD/DVD drive for Mac air ?

Hey guys, im new here, currently a Windows user. And my dad just bought me the Macbook air with 1.8ghz. Hheheh its great. So just one liltle quick question. Can i use any External CD/DVD drive for the Mac air ? or it has to be the Super drive ?
