Mail/Time Machine Issues

Hello, I hope someone can help. I am not an expect at all so apologies for a possibly stupid question.
I deleted a mail account in a mail account in Mail and recreated it again (I was having trouble connecting and no matter what I tried it didn't want to connect) - of course the mailbox in the Library was overwritten. (I did not know this..!)

I was hoping that I would be able to restore from time machine, but this seems to be impossible as the profile no longer fits, what can i do to get my old emails back??

Mac Mail and Time Machine

Yes, I have just seen your post and I have done the same thing - led my a tech support guy for Bellsouth. I have lost all my emails and when I went into time machine, it is only going back as far as the new mailbox was created. How do I get farther back? I hope someone helps us both!
