Hello, I noticed that My macbook seemed a little hot. I'm using it in desktop mode also. But I noticed that some of my usb plugs and my audio plug were getting hot. I pulled out my thumb drive and touched the metal part and found it too hot to touch. Is this just the heat transferring? My cpu temp is current 142 degrees F, hard drive temp is 118.

I do not work in degrees F and I have no idea how hot that is. But if the machine isn't shutting down or crashing it isn't over heating. There are two ways to get the temperature down.

1)Increase the fan speed. You can do this in a number of ways if you don't know how, then this. It is by far the best and free.

2)Buy a desktop stand for the macbook. I run my pro like this behind my TV for days at a time and have very few problems.

A 3rd option is to open up the Macbook and clean out the dust at the heatsink and fan.
