How do I edit file info?

I used to be able to edit my song info on windows wen i when into its properties, like renaming the album name track number song name etc etc
is this possible on the mac? When i click on get info on each file and says "you can read and write"...
i dont understand and im quite confused

Just 'Get Info' on the song tracks in iTunes and you can change everything from in there.

i know i can do that, but i run my music from my external hd and i noticed that it only changes the file info in itunes and the actual file itself does not change

i dont understand this program uve provided me,

It looks like an extension to Finder which allows you to edit the mp3 tags directly from Finder on your file system.
